On Tuesday, April 11, 2006, an angel of the Lord came and called our dear one, Jean Elinor Davis, from this life to eternal rest. Jean Elinor was born March 26, 1942 in Barbados, West Indies to Oswald Gibbons and Louise Cadogan Carrington. A resident of Pearland, Jean was a registered nurse. She completed her nursing training in England and continued her nursing career in Houston. She worked with numerous hospitals in the Houston area, including Doctors Hospital. Jean is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by a loving family; her beloved husband, Ernest; her daughter, Marisa Noble, of Las Vegas, Nevada; her grandson, Jordan Noble; three brothers, Haldana Gibbons and his wife, Cherrie, of London, England; Grantley Gibbons and his wife, Cynthia, of St. Michael, Barbados; and Tony Gibbons and his wife, Brenda, of East Orange, New Jersey; a sister, Norma Cadogan, of St. Michael, Barbados; mother-in-law, Rachel Johnson; four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, all of Annapolis, Maryland; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Good Friday, April 14, 2006, from 6 – 8 PM at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway in Pearland. A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at 6 PM Saturday, April 15, 2006, in the Chapel of Clayton Funeral Home, with Deacon Paul L. Johnson officiating.. The repass will be held at Ernest and Jean’s home, 8505 Orchard View Lane in Pearland, promptly after the memorial celebration.
