Obituary of Elias Martinez Robledo

Elias “Marty” Martinez Robledo, 92, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016. He is preceded in death by his father, Fernando Robledo; mother, Cruz Ayala; his first wife, Emma Aranda Robledo; brothers, Ruben and Lazerus Robledo; and sister, Mary Ramos. Marty is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Thelma Robledo; sons, Freddy and Patrick Robledo, daughter, Laura Jakups and husband, Jim; longtime stepsons, John Hartsell and wife, Teri, David Hartsell and wife, Nellie; sister, Petra Elizondo; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Marty worked in the Civilian Conservation Corp program for Franklin D. Roosevelt during the 1940’s before WWII. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corp. Marty enjoyed the outdoors and camping and passed on all his conversation knowledge about plants and trees to his children and grandchildren. He had a successful career with Sears as an electronics technician for more than 30 years. Marty will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Marty’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate. A visitation for Marty will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with interment to follow at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, Texas.
