Obituary of John Joseph Koster

John Joseph Koster, 89, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 surrounding by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Rose Koster; wife Adele Koster; brothers, Harry and Gerald Koster; and sister, Virginia Foster. John is survived by his sons, Stephen John Koster and wife Velma, and Keith Joseph Koster; daughters, Marsha Ann Henry and husband Terry, Elaine Marie Goodwin and husband Terry; brothers, David Koster and wife Delores, Roy Koster and wife Sharon; sisters, Marcella Corrick, Eileen Buzek and Lillian Vincent; sister-in-law, Margaret Koster; grandchildren, John, Christopher, Courtney, Rebecca and Sean Koster, Kristen DiStefano, Matthew Goodwin, Kandace Goodwin Palmisano, Angela Henry Sandidge, and Heather Henry Culver; and 13 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. John Joseph Koster was born on January 28, 1927 in Houston, Texas. He attended St. Thomas high school and joined the U.S. Navy soon after his graduation. He was a proud veteran that served his country until the end of WWII. John was a commercial house painter for more than twenty five years and was also a member of the Local Painters Union 130. The love of John’s life was Adele and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage. He loved to dance to all types of music from old country to Big Band music. He had a great sense of humor and loved sharing a joke with everyone. John was an avid football fan, but especially college football. It didn’t matter which teams were playing he loved the game. John will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A visitation and rosary for John will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will take place from 5:00 until 8:00 pm with the Rosary recited at 6:00 pm. The funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd., Pearland, Texas 77581. Interment will follow the mass at SouthPark/Resurrection Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
