Donald A. Ellis, 83, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Millie Ellis; daughter, Sherrie Ellis Wieland; brothers, Buddy, William, Melvin, Aubrey and Fredrick Ellis; and sisters, Elsie Krell, and Lily Nelson. Don is survived by his loving wife, Sybil Redick; son, Michael P. Ellis; daughters, Marcie O’Keefe, Faith Ellis Dimitt, Dona Marie Jackson, Gabby Rogillio and husband, Michael; brother, Phillip Ellis; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Don was a genuine man that was kind and generous to everyone he encountered. He was truly a loving family man that was the best husband and father anyone could ever want. Don was known for his infectious and permanent smile that could turn around the worst of days. He had a heart of gold and through his patience and guidance, would seek to make lasting friendships with everyone he encountered. Don was an excellent builder and sought out to make or fix anything that was in need of repair. He loved to read books and share his knowledge with other. His sweet soul and kind nature will remain in the memories of all his family. Don will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The visitation and funeral service for Don will be held Monday, August 29, 2016 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
