Obituary of Nobuko Anna Guerra

Nobuko Anna Guerra, 79, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents, Seijiro and Maka Oshiro; her loving husband of more than 30 years, Ricardo Guerra; brother, Masaichiro Oshiro; and sister, Yasuye Oshiro. Nobuko is survived by her son, John Edward Guerra and wife, Dorothy; daughters, Rimy Maria Guerra, Trina Marie Guerra, Velma Ann Demerchant; sister, Kazuko Oshiro Yoshino; grandchildren, Danny Guerra, Haley and Raegan Demerchant; and a host of other family and friends. Nobuko was a devoted and loving wife, mother and sister that cared deeply for her family. She loved to cook and feed her family both Japanese and Mexican dishes. Nobuko had a “green thumb” and enjoyed growing all kinds of beautiful flowers. She was affectionately known as “Grandma” to all the grandchildren and family. Nobuko loved to travel with her family as well as back to Okinawa, Japan to visit other family members. She was strong in her faith, loved God and found comfort in knowing that she would one day be reunited with her Ricardo once again. Nobuko will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service for Nobuko will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 6502 County Road 48, Manvel, TX 77578 with Father Tom Ponzini officiating. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
