Obituary of John Maxwell Elliott

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John “Bubba” Maxwell Elliott was born on February 8, 1983 and was taken in the arms of angels to heaven on March 26, 2017. We are gathered here today in the memory of John so that together we may acknowledge and share both our joy in the gift that his life was to us, and the pain that his passing brings. In sharing the joy and the pain together today, may we lessen the pain and remember more clearly the joy. John is survived by his Mother Mechele Elliott, Sister Mandee Elliott, Sister Cindee Elliott and Brother in law Billy Guajardo, nephews Dwayne, Nathaniel, Mark, great niece Aylana; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. John was very close to his family, and his friends, he absolutely adored his three nephews Dwayne, Nathaniel and Mark and his great niece Aylana, which he nicknamed booger. As a welder, John worked hard, but he also enjoyed his life. He loved to fish, disc jockey (dj), play poker, and take his nephews to WWE wrestling SmackDown, basketball, and football events. There were other things besides sports and fishing, John collected Nike tennis shoes, he literally had a pair for each day of the year, but to ask him if he only had to choose one pair he would have chosen his Jordans, since Michael Jordan # 23 was his favorite player. There were many wonderful aspects to John’s life, and many ways that he touched our lives. He will be remembered as a wonderful son, brother, a great friend, a generous uncle, cousin, fisherman, poker player, Nike shoe collector, and welder. In all these ways and more, he made our lives richer and fuller. Now that he has passed away, of course there is emptiness and pain, confusion and maybe even anger at death coming to a man of only 34 years, but in many ways, the gift of John’s life is still here with us. He lives on in our memories and stories, and in what all of us have become because of him. So, I encourage you to share –today, tomorrow and in the years to come- your memories and stories, and to share the pain of your loss as well. In this way, we will keep the gift of John’s life alive. You will be greatly missed beloved son and brother, BUBBA! God, Saw you getting tired. When a cure was not to be, he wrapped his arms around you and whispered, “COME TO ME”, you didn’t deserve what you went through so he gave you needed rest, God’s garden must be beautiful he only takes the best.
