Obituary of Johnny Ray White

Johnny Ray White, 62, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017.  He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Lottie White.  Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Beverly White; sons, Johnny White Jr and wife, Helen, James White; brothers, James White and wife, Odessa, Bonny White and wife, Vonda, Michael White and wife, Patricia, Jerome White and wife, Rosa, Jason White and wife, Tangela; sisters Vanessa White, Jacqueline Edwards, Delores Fitch; and a host of other family and friends.

Johnny was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana where he played basketball in high school.  Education was extremely important to him and he graduated with a Bachelor degree from Texas Southern University.  Johnny was a devoted American that proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  He worked for many years as a dock worker and union steward.  Johnny loved reading and staying up on the latest financial trends.  He even started a successful investment club.  Johnny was known for his quiet and reserved demeanor.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services for Johnny will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The visitation will be held at 10:00 am and the services will follow at 11:00 am in the chapel with Rev. Preston J. Allen officiating.  Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
