Obituary of Kevin Paul Elbert

Kevin Elbert, 35, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.  He is survived by his father, James Elbert and wife, Jolene; mother, Kathy Shellenberg and husband, Wayne; his loving wife of 8 years, Mary Elbert; daughters, Clara and Lana Elbert; brothers, Jeremy Elbert and wife, Kathy; Robbie Robbins, David Elbert and wife, Tina; step-sister, Ravyn Drysdale; nieces, Cieara Smith, Madeline and Maribelle Tittle; nephews, Robbie Robbins, Ezekiel and Elijah Tittle; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Kevin was a dedicated husband and father who loved his family very much.  He was passionate in his care for others as a physical therapy assistant.  Kevin found great pleasure in music and loved playing the guitar with his band “Permanent Daylight”.  He took interest in art and especially enjoyed sketching.  Kevin took great pride in being a good athlete growing up and enjoyed all sports.  He was an avid Houston Astros sports fan and loved cheering on their successes.  Kevin especially enjoyed and studying the art of jiu jitsu.  He embraced all of life’s challenges and showed great courage and perseverance throughout his illness as he inspired those around him with his constant positive outlook.  Kevin will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kevin’s daughters education fund.  Checks may be made payable to Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union and given to any immediate family member.

A visitation and rosary for Kevin will be held, Thursday September 21, 2017 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm with the rosary recited at 6:00 pm.  The funeral mass will take place Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd., Pearland, Texas 77581, with Fr. Richard Hinkley officiating.
