Obituary of Thelma Lee Williams

Thelma Lee Williams of Houston, Texas passed away on October 23, 2017. She preceded in death by her parents Geraldine Mansfield and Willie Franklin, sister Bessie Mae White, and Melissa Williams. Left to cherish Thelma's memory is her husband Chester Williams Jr., stepmother Audrey Franklin, son Charles Franklin stepson Brian Oliney, daughters Doretha Williams and Geraldine Williams, grandchildren, Amarion Tyree Franklin, Charles Franklin Jr, Jerni C'nae Franklin and Cashay, brothers Linden Franklin, Willie Franklin Jr, and sisters, Mable Williams, Barbara Smith, Mary Warner, Patsy Smith, and Lillian Franklin; and a host of other family and friends.

Thelma thoroughly enjoyed cooking, for her it was labor of love. Although her favorite food was fried catfish, her Gumbo was well received. She was loved by the neighborhood children, they couldn't stop by without speaking speaking to her. She enjoyed watching General Hospital and would rarely missed an episode, but her all-time favorite movie was Imitation of Life. She had a green thumb and enjoyed planting and growing flowers, particularly ivories. It was therapeutic and relaxing to her. Thelma adored her dog Nikolai which was a gift from her daughters, but her most and treasured times were spent with her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Thelma will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The visitation will take place Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am and the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Minister Donald Shelvin officiating.  Following the services, interment will take place at Houston Memorial Gardens in Pearland, Texas.
