Obituary of Glenn Morrison Chaney

Please share a memory of Glenn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Judge Glenn Morrison Chaney, 82, of Pearland, Texas passed away on October 31, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents Mozelle Glenn and Donald R. Chaney and brother Don Ray Chaney. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 56 years Phyllis Dee Chaney, son Mark Ramsey Chaney (Christie), daughter Cheryl Chaney, grandchildren Kaitlyn and Madelyn Chaney, and a host of many other family and friends.

Glenn loved to fish in his spare time and was an avid sports fan. He was a huge Rockets fan but truly enjoyed all sports. He loved coaching Mark and Cheryl’s basketball teams as they were growing up. Traveling and going on vacations was one of his many loves and one of his favorites was a recent trip to Alaska where he got to go salmon fishing. Glenn went to South Texas Law School in 1964 and worked in Houston for a couple of years. He opened his own practice in Pearland in 1967; he was located at the Pearland State Bank building. Glenn became a municipal judge in Pearland from 1978 until 2012, as well as in Webster from 1986 until his passing. He was a meticulous record keeper in and out of the office and he kept stats on every sports team he could.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Glenn’s honor to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.

The family would like to extend a special thank you for the dedicated service of the Bailiffs and Jailors at the Webster and Pearland Municipal Courts.
