Obituary of Johnnie Shafer Brashier

Johnnie Shafer Brashier, 84, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018.  She is preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Eva Mae Edge; first husband, Randal Henry Vaughn, second husband, John A. Shafer; and her brother.  Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 16 years, Bill Brashier; sons, Randy Vaughn and wife, Laura, Anthony Shafer; grandchildren, Austin and Asa Shafer; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Johnnie was strong in her faith and was active with her Providential Baptist Church.  She devoted her life to doing for others.  Johnnie loved to bake and cook for family and her church.  She was active in the ladies group and enjoying singing at the church.  Johnnie enjoyed traveling on church trips to the East coast.  She was a very patient mother and her grandsons were the love of her life.  Johnnie had an amazing sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Johnnie's memory to Providential Church at 4248 Veterans Drive, Pearland, Texas 77584.  Visitation for Johnnie will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2018 for 6:00 pm until 8 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The funeral service will take place Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 10:00 am at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
