Obituary of Bernis B. Teaters

Bernis B. Teaters, a resident of Friendswood, passed away Friday, October 7, 2005 in Nassau Bay, Texas at the age of 85 years. Bernis was born October 21, 1919 in Holly, Texas to Harris and Jessie Reese Brannen. She was a former resident of Lufkin, Texas and a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Lufkin. Bernis served many years with the Christian Women’s Fellowship Association and also served on the Board of the First Christian Church. She enjoyed participating in many roles within the church helping her community. Bernis is preceded in death by her husband, Ted R. Teaters and is survived by a loving family; her son, Terry, of Austin; her daughter, Loa Jones, of Friendswood; a sister, Cleo Bittner, of San Antonio; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. A memorial service celebrating Bernis’ life will be held Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 4:00 PM, at the First Christian Church of Lufkin, 1300 S. First St., with Rev. Mike Hunter officiating.
