Henry Green was one of ten children born to the late Lee and Lizzie B. Green, in Grove, Louisiana. He proudly served in the United States Army on a two-year assignment, and was honorably discharged in April, 1958. Henry moved to Houston in 1958 and went to work for White Manufacturing Company, where he started as a floor sweeper, and was elevated to the position of machinist. His natural ability on the machines was quickly recognized and he was often referred to as "The Black Diamond", as he boosted profits for the company and advanced into management. He left the company in the position of Plant Manager when it closed its doors in the late 1980's. Following the closure, Henry attended Universal Technical Institute and received his Automotive Mechanics Degree in 1989. He also worked for Westbrook Manufacturing Company and Seminole Tubular Products Company, where he retired in 1996. Henry loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, animals, gardening, welding, and working with his hands. He loved helping people, but, first and foremost, he loved his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Lizzie Green, brothers, Joseph and Lonnie Green, and a sister, Nora Lee Walker. Henry leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 21 years, Carol Miller Green. He also leaves one son, Henry Lee Green (Shalonda) of Houston; one daughter, Veronica Darrett of Houston; three sisters, Odell Green of Sibley, Louisiana, Gertha Jackson (Lectric), and Beatrice Green (Leon) both of Houston; three brothers, Isiah Green (Frankie), Tony Green, and Andrew Green all of Houston. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, other family members, and countless friends.
