Timothy Jay Laird, a resident of Manvel, went to heaven to dance with Jesus on Wednesday, April 5, 2006. Tim was born November 10, 1948 in Amarillo, Texas to Ben and Helen Larson Laird. Tim proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a locksmith by trade and worked with the Veteran’s Administration for fifteen years. Tim was a dedicated and faithful deacon with the First Baptist Church - Pearland. He was born again in 1983 and served Jesus faithfully for 23 years. A true advocate and prayer warrior for the unborn, Tim served as President of the Life Advocates Board of Houston. He was founder of White Stone Ministries and the Pearland Pro-Life Alliance, and taught an inner healing bible study, called Isaiah 61. Tim is survived by a loving family; his beloved wife, Tammie; two daughters, Elora Marie and Brielle Dawn; step daughter, Mindy Nicholas; brother, Michael Ray Laird; grandson, Michael Anthony Jones; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland. A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at 6:00 PM Monday, April 10, 2006, at the First Baptist Church - Pearland, with Rev. Sonny Foraker and Rev. Rick Scarborough officiating. Pallbearers are; Willie Mollohan, Marshall Eggers, David Allen, Vince Bernhardt, Reagan Jacks and Daniel Ebers. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Deacon body of First Baptist Church - Pearland. In lieu of usual remembrances, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church – Pearland to be distributed to various crisis pregnancy centers, or to the Heritage Christian Academy Scholarship Fund.
