Marvin Desmond Anderson

Marvin Desmond Anderson, 79, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin R. and Amelia Anderson; son, Daniel Butler; and brother, Jamie H. Anderson.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 36 years, Judy Anderson; son, Marvin Anderson Jr. (Shania); daughters, Deidre (Dee Dee) Anderson, Carla Vowell (Patricia Herrera), Kimberly Craft (Kenneth), Michelle Lee (Wesley); brother, Phillip Anderson (Karlon), sister, Jewell Horn; grandchildren, Kameron and Ashley Renea Craft, Tye Kemp, Catherine, Brittany and Zachary Lee, McKenzie and Travis Anderson, Kenneth and Klawdya Leach; great grandchildren, Gracie, Mason, Kaden, and Karsyn; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Marvin moved from Texarkana to Houston in 1959.  He started in the elevator business in 1961 and worked until he retired in 2001.  However, retirement didn’t agree with Marvin and he started a second career as a Construction Superintendent until he “officially” retired 10 years later.  Marvin was a member of the Local 31 Elevator Union.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.  Marvin found his greatest joy being surrounded by family and friends.  He always lent a hand to those in need in one way or another and was welcoming to all with his love.  Marvin’s most prized procession was his family.  Those who knew Marvin will miss him and his caring and loving nature.

Services for Marvin will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The visitation will take place Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 10:00 am in the chapel with Pastor Josh Ross officiating.  Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
