Gary Lilley, 69, passed away April 12, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Lee and Wanda McGhee Lilley; and wife Deborah Autrey Lilley. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Brian Lilley and wife Hailey, and Todd Lilley; sister, Patricia Walker; grandson Beaux, and a host of dear family and friends. Baseball held a special place in Gary’s heart. He loved youth baseball and enjoyed helping kids in the LaPorte community, serving as president of the LaPorte Baseball Association for many years. He also loved watching his sons play football and basketball but being able to coach his sons in baseball meant the world to him. Gary loved his family and community, and he was a sports enthusiast to say the least. Spending time with family was very important to Gary. He enjoyed hunting and had a great love for the outdoors. Over the years he took his sons to his deer Lease in Bandera, Texas many times. Countless hours of quality family time, and memories, were made there. Gary also enjoyed going on cruises with his family. The entire family would go and have wonderful experiences together. Gary was quite a cook, participating in cook offs with his team, “The Pit Crew”. He will truly be missed by all who knew him and loved him. Services for Gary will take place at the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel in LaPorte, Texas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Service will be held the following day, Thursday April 21, at noon with D.J. Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena, Texas.
