The Houston Astros lost a loyal fan as Dannye Mc Spencer went home on March 2, 2023. He is now dancing with the Lord on two legs! Hallelujah! Everyone in heaven is thrilled because renovations begin immediately. You know he brought a tape measure with him!!Only Dannye could make upgrades in heaven.
This dearly loved man is survived by his blushing bride of 57 years, Judy (Nanny) Spencer, and their four children: Chris, his wife Teresa, Shannon, his wife Shannan, Stacy, her husband Troy, and Tracy and her wife Shevaughn. His legacy lives on in Papa’s most favorite people, his beloved grandchildren: Julianna, Brooke, Alex, Kam, Caleb, Emery, and Kinlee. Finally, now announcing her royal highness great-granddaughter Roree. He will be remembered with laughter and smiles.
Dannye was born March 27, 1945, in Amarillo, Texas. After graduating from high school, Dannye moved his family to Louisiana and then La Porte, Texas to advance his career at Western Merchandisers. Eventually retiring from Waste Management in 2014, Dannye spent his retirement enjoying Astros games and traveling. Dannye and Judy traveled throughout the country while living in an RV. With his family, he also enjoyed numerous skiing trips to New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado. Additionally, he and Nanny cruised to Alaska and flew to Hawaii. However, most often, he could be found cheering in the stands for his grandson and granddaughters at almost every baseball, softball, football, or basketball game. He loved nature, fishing, sports, and building things. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
The family will be having a private memorial service held at Yellowstone National Park per Dannye’s wishes. His family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the National Amputation Foundation Incorporated (NAF). Your donation will help individuals like Dannye Spencer by providing knowledge and resources needed to regain independent living following the loss of a limb. Thank you in advance for your support.
