Virgilio A. Cajipe

Virgilio A. Cajipe, 80, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents Juanito and Ambrocia Cajipe; and sisters Elena Valdellon, and Editha Cajipe. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, of 50 years, Caridad Cajipe; daughters Charyln Cajipe Davis and husband, Brian, Clarissa Cajipe; sister Elisa Cagadahan; and grandchildren Kaylyn Davis, and Jackson Davis, and many other family and friends.

Virgilio was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He also considered his pets to be important members of his family. He was known for his generosity and humor. Virgilio proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 21 years (1962 - 1983.) He earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer and served during the Vietnam War. Virgilio served aboard the destroyers USS Forrest Royal and USS Coontz. He started serving aboard submarines in 1975, earning his submarine qualification in 1976. Virgilio served aboard the submarines USS Kamehameha, USS Shark, and USS Sunfish. Following his retirement from the Navy, Virgilio worked for the United States Postal Service. In his spare time, he loved to cook, collect cars, and go dove hunting. He also had a talent for creating decorative vegetable and fruit carvings. Virgilio will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation and Rosary for Virgilio will be held on Thursday, May 18th, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm. The visitation is scheduled from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral mass will be held at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at St. Angela Meirci Catholic Church, in Sienna Plantation, in Missouri City, Texas.
