Margaret Marie Atkins Reep, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Sept. 30, 2014, in DeSoto, Texas. She was 89. She was born Margaret Marie Atkins to Victor Ray Atkins and Alice Modena Atkins on April 25, 1925, in Green Hill, Texas. She married the late Noel G. Harbour and raised three children; Shelby Ray Harbour, Barbara Ann Harbour McClary and Jerry Wayne Harbour, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. In 1959, Margaret and her children moved to Houston, Texas, where she later married Robert Reep. In addition to being a strong and professing Christian, Margaret was a loving and caring mother who also worked outside the home throughout her life. She retired from Southwestern Bell in 1985 after 35 years of dedicated service. Margaret was a proud member of the Communications Workers of America, Local 6222. A longtime Houston resident, she had recently relocated to Hutchins, Texas, to live with her daughter and son-in-law Obie McClary. Margaret is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, son Jerry, grandsons Michael Ray Harbour and Shad Lee Smith, granddaughter Laura Harbour Meeker, a nephew, a niece, eight great-grandsons and great-granddaughters, and brother Bennie Ray Atkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Shelby, and daughters-in-law Rachel Harbour and Mary Harbour. Visitation and services will be at Clayton Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas, on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. The visitation will begin at 9:00 am and the funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Walter Swain officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Houston.
