James Charles “Charlie” Savell, 51, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. He is preceded in death by his father, James Charles Savell; and sister, Jenette Savell and his beloved stepfather Richard “Pops” Smith. Charlie is survived by his mother, Norma Savell Smith; his loving wife of 19 years, Kimberly Bounds Savell; brothers, Carlton and Mike Wiseman, Richard Savell and wife, Barbara; sisters, Judy Hill, Jill Rodgers, Sissy Savell and Robin Savell; niece and nephew, Richelle and Austin Savell; Goddaughter, Brooke Mayfield Weddle; lifelong family friends, Kent and Katrina Nutt; special nephews, Connor Nutt and Alyx St. Jean; all of his Texas Steel Family; and a host of other family and friends. Charlie was a sports fanatic that had a passion for classic rock music. He has been a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for many years. He was an excellent provider for his family and a hardworking, dedicated company man for Texas Steel Conversion. One of Charlie’s greatest loves was celebrating Christmas and buying gifts for needy children and the children at MD Anderson Children’s Wing. He and his friend Kent shared many adventures all around the world together . Charlie and Kimberly loved traveling together and with friends to many places that always ended up with lots of laughter and fond memories. He knew many people in all walks of life and made friends everywhere he went. Charlie was truly the life of the party and will forever be remembered for his spontaneous nature. He was a loyal and caring friend and husband that will be really missed by all that knew and loved him. A Memorial Service for Charlie will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. Following the memorial service, the family would like to extend a special invitation to those wishing to join them for a reception at Chuy’s Restaurant, 9350 Westheimer, Houston, Texas 77063 from 7:00 until 9:30 pm.
