Richard “Dickie” Nuñez, 57, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Vera Nuñez. Dickie is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Nuñez; daughters, Melissa Nuñez, Jessica Elzy; step-daughter, Crystal Gonzales; brothers, Ron Nuñez, Jason Nuñez and wife, Rachelle; sisters, Vera Lynn Smith and husband, David, Yvette Bonvillain and husband, Mickey; grandchildren, Emma, Delilah, Tyra and Alfonso Jr.; and a host of other family and friends.
Dickie was an excellent provider for his family and truly enjoyed his job. Although, Houston was his hometown, Dickie lived in Ohio for many years and considered Ohio his second home. He had many friends there who will miss him dearly. His illness brought him and Theresa back to Houston. He was a mentor to his entire family, teaching them all the importance of family values. Dickie loved camping outdoors and traveling and was very spontaneous. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family. Dickie was affectionately known as “Pop Pop” and “PePaw” to his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service for Dickie will be held Friday, December 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.
