Obituary of Ava Darlene Woods

Ava Darlene Woods, 56, passed away Friday, February 13, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Audrey Griffin; and brother, Johnny Lee Griffin. Darlene is survived by her daughters, Audra Anderson and husband, Dustin, Brandy Cagle and husband, Johnny, Jamie Burleigh and husband, Clint; brothers, David Griffin and wife, Linda, Christopher Griffin and wife, Shauntell; sister, Tresa Gayle Oneal and husband, Victor; grandchildren, Raelynn and Lloyd Caden Anderson, Emily Grace, Raegan Michelle, and Kinley Rae Cagle, Cheyenne and Jonah Burleigh; and a host of other family and dear friends. Darlene was strong in her faith, loved the Lord with all her heart and cherished the friends that God placed in her life. She enjoyed bird watching and especially loved cardinals. Darlene was affectionately known as “Mimi” to her grandchildren and cherished playing with them and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses, staff and doctors at Houston Hospice for all their care, love, and support throughout Darlene’s illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Darlene Griffin Woods Medical Fund, c/o Frost Bank – Pearland, 5208 Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. A visitation for Darlene will be held Monday, February 16, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
