Please share a memory of Sam to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sam Thomas Marcello, 59, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Luke and Bertha Marcello; and brother, Leo Marcello. Sam is survived by his loving wife, Clara Marcello; daughters, Grace Elizabeth and Sophie Katharine Marcello; brother, Chris Marcello; sisters, Ann Governale and husband, Gary, Mary Jane Doise and husband, Dennis; and a host of other family and friends. Sam was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was strong in his faith and daily prayer, which was extremely important to him as he placed God and family at the center of his life. Sam was unselfish and always made sure that his “girls” had whatever they needed. He made it a priority to support them in all that they did, whether it was school, dance, or other special interests. He loved watching movies, even sitting through chick flicks and princess movies, as long as he was with his “girls”. The only time he ever claimed possession of the television was when the LSU Tigers were playing. Although Sam didn’t get to often, he also enjoyed playing the piano, golfing and fishing. Sam had an amazing sense of humor, and his beautiful smile and infectious laugh were contagious! He was famous for his “Riceballs”, a Sicilian family recipe that he often prepared for special family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A memorial fund has been established and donations may be made in Sam’s honor to the “Marcello Girls Education Fund” at any Wells Fargo Bank. A Rosary will be held, Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 5:30 to 6:00pm, and a Visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place Monday, March 9, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 5501 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77004. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
