John was an excellent provider for his family and a dedicated employee everywhere he worked. He worked for over 10 years with Pearland ISD before joining the staff at St. Helen Catholic Church, where he dedicated his life over the past 18 years. John was instrumental in many of the building projects, expansions and improvements at St. Helen. He served as the Bazaar Chairman in 1996. John loved being involved in the activities of the school and was especially serious about the safety of all the children that attended school there. He was also responsible for taking care of the Rectory and seeing that every need was taken care of and met. The Arch Diocese always bestowed their highest honors to St. Helen which was a testament to John’s meticulous maintenance of the facilities. He was even known to visit parishioners of the church to assist with repairs at their homes. John loved supporting the school’s dinner and dance for many years. He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. John and Josephine loved to travel; whether it was back to their homeland in Ireland or going to Galveston on their days off together. He enjoyed working in the yard, gardening and entertaining friends at his home with a backyard barbecue. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
