Obituary of Donald Rhodes

Donald Ernest Rhodes, age 75, of Pearland, passed away on January 16, 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Frances (Finney) Rhodes and sister, Delores Perkay. He is survived by his wife, Gisela, and a host of many other family and friends. Donald was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on April 28, 1933. As a child, he loved fishing with his Dad. Donald proudly served his country for twenty-two years in the US Army. He became an E-7 Staff Sergeant and during his career, traveled throughout Europe, Korea, Hawaii, and Japan. He was also a Master Mason. Donald and Gisela met on a blind date and married in 1959. They spent their many years together traveling, fishing, mountain climbing, or sitting on the back porch with each other. A Memorial Service will be held for Donald on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 10:00 am in the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel. An inurnment will immediately follow at 11:45 am at Houston National Cemetery in Houston.
