SFC Noel Thomas Elkins, U.S. Army, Ret., a resident of Pearland, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the age of 62 years. Noel was born December 6, 1944 in Bay City, Texas to the late Noel Veitch and Mary Elizabeth (Sumners) Elkins.
Noel proudly served his country and retired from the U. S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wesley Elkins. Noel is survived by a loving family; his daughter, Jana Elkins Teleisha, of Pearland; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Keels, Tiffany Teleisha and Shane Teleisha; his former wife and the mother of his daughter, Candy Elkins, of League City; brother, Jim Elkins, of Pasadena; sister, Sandra Gates, of League City; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
A celebration of Noel’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 27, 2007, in the Chapel of Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway in Pearland, with Rev. Bill Cole officiating. A committal of Noel’s remains will be held at a later date at Houston National Cemetery.
