Obituary of Linda Corrine Faulk Arteaga

Linda Corinne Faulk Arteaga, 56, returned to her heavenly home on July 27, 2015 after a long and valiant battle with brain cancer. Her devotion to her family and her steadfast belief in God supported her in her fight and ultimately gave her peace. Linda was born in Brownsville, TX on April 9, 1959. She was a longtime resident of Ponchatoula, LA, and later, Houston, TX. Linda was married to Ruben G. Arteaga for 40 years and was blessed with a large and loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ruben; her sons: Anthony (Heidy), Austin (Rachael), Aaron (Maria), Adam (Lauren), Walter Kitchen; and the daughter whom she always dreamed of and prayed for, Amber Anne. Also celebrating the joy of her life are her mother, Bobbie Anne Faulk; her sisters: Judy Faulk, Becky Thompson, and Molly Faulk; her brothers, John C. Faulk and David Wise; her 9 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Judge William “Billy” Faulk, Sr., and her brother, William “Rusty” Faulk, Jr. A memorial service celebrating Linda’s life will be held on Saturday August 1, 2015, at 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church, 1600 Boca Chica Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78520. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial gifts in Linda’s name be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Center @ www.mdanderson.org/ or to a charity of your choice.
