Obituary of Yolanda Chavez

Yolanda Chavez, 65, passed away Friday, August 7, 2015. She is preceded in death by her sister, Maria Jimenez. Yolanda is survived by her mother, Lupe Chavez; brother, Joe Raymond Rodriguez; nephews, Frank Jimenez Jr and wife, Zonia, Richard Jimenez and wife, Arcilia, Ernest Jimenez and wife, Olivia, Joe Rodriguez and wife, Yesenia, Johnny Rodriguez, Rudy Rodriguez and wife, Emelia; nieces, Mary Alice Vasquez and husband, Ricky, Belinda Garcia and husband, Eddie, Cindy Rodriguez, Carmelita Olivares; and a host of other family and friends. Yolanda had a successful career with American Building Maintenance where she worked as a District Manager for many years. She had strong opinions and you always knew where she stood on a variety of topics. Yolanda was an excellent daughter and caregiver for her mother and loved all of her nieces, nephews and their children. She was devoted to her family and cherished spending time with all of them. Yolanda enjoyed playing bingo and going to Louisiana to gamble. She truly had a servants heart and was always looking for ways to help others. Her caring nature also extended to special causes and her church where she devoted her time, energy and resources to help others. Yolanda will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A visitation and Rosary service for Yolanda will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will take place from 5:00 until 8:00 pm with the Rosary recited at 6:00 pm. Another visitation and Rosary will be held at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, 2003 W. Wheeler Avenue, Aransas Pass, Texas 78336. The visitation and Rosary will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 from 3:00 until 9:00 pm with the Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral mass will take place Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2414 Main Street, Ingleside, Texas 78362 with Father Thomas Wellar officiating. Interment will follow at San Ignacio Cemetery in Ingleside, Texas.
