Obituary of Paula Alvarado Becerra

Paula Alvarado Becerra, 80, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, Margarito and Maria Alvarado. Paula is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jose C. Becerra; sons, Jose L. Becerra, Ralph Becerra, David Becerra, Ricky Becerra and wife, Lucia; daughters, Maria Gonzalez, Angie Becerra; brothers, Gilberto Alvarado and wife, Estella, Mario Alvarado and wife, Blanca, Conrado Alvarado and wife, Fely; sisters, Guille Sanchez, Lupe Jalife and husband, Vincente, Alicia Robledo and husband, Chacho; thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. Paula was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother that honored her husband and their vows together. Her life of commitment and love to her family was an inspiration and example to everyone. Paula was strong in her faith and believed strongly in serving and helping others in need. She sacrificially gave of herself and was always available to love on others and reassure them of God’s faithfulness and mercy. Paula’s strong influence on her family encouraged the best out of everyone. She loved to cook and feed her family. It was an expression of love for her. Paula was affectionately known as “Ita” and “Grandma” to her grandchildren and cherished every opportunity for the family to get together . She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A visitation for Paula will be held Monday, August 31, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 7781. The funeral service will take place Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 11:00 am at Southway Community Church, 14011 Hwy 288 Frontage Road, Houston, Texas 77047 with Pastor Ricky Becerra and Pastor Jason Hess officiating. Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
