Rachel Florence Stiefvater passed away on February 15, 2009. She is survived by her loving husband, Arlen Stiefvater; daughter, Arlis Perry & her husband Monty; brother, Alan Stembridge & his wife, Bettye; grandchildren, Douglas & Allison Perry; and a host of other family & friends.
Rachel was born on January 14, 1927 in Tolu, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Hazel (Hassell) Stembridge; son, Charles Arlen Stiefvater; brother, Charles Stembridge; and sister, Louise Cherry. She spent most of her life in Bellevue, Nebraska before settling in Pearland in 2004. Throughout the years, Rachel and Arlen loved to travel. Spending time with the family was always enjoyable and her grandchildren affectionately called her “Grandmaâ€. Rachel was a past Matron of the Eastern Star, Grand Representative to Maryland O.E.S.
An Eastern Star Memorial Service by Alpha Chapter 325 will be held at Bellevue Cemetery in Bellevue, Nebraska later this coming spring.
