Thomas Lee Toney, age 58 of Pearland, passed away unexpectedly at a motorcycle rally in Daytona Beach, Florida on March 1, 2009. He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Robin; son, Brandon; daughter, Jennifer; sisters, Mary McBurney & her husband Mike and Nancy Jacobs & her husband Butch; grandchildren, Eva, Madeline, Addison, Tyler, and Austin; and a host of many other family & friends.
Tom was born on September 21, 1950 in Logan, West Virginia. He grew up in the Houston area and retired from Oxychem in 2002. He became a local business owner where he enjoyed spending time with his customers. Tom was a motorcycle enthusiast and would travel all around the country with his friends. His home life, wife, kids and grandkids provided him with a threshold of stability. They meant everything to him. He was affectionately known to his grandkids as “Paw Paw”. Tom also enjoyed Nascar racing and was an avid Astros fan.
Tom will be remembered by many as a free spirit with a heart of gold to those in need and his great sense of humor. He may have lived life on the edge at times, but knew when to come back before he stepped off.
Visitation for Thomas will be on Friday, March 6, 2009, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at SouthPark Cemetery on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 11:00 am. For those wishing to ride in the Funeral Procession, please arrive at Clayton Funeral Home by 10:30 am on Saturday morning. Pastor Keith Anderson of the New Harvest Christian Fellowship will be officiating.
