When I heard that Joan had gone to her eternal home I felt a great loss and pain. Then I realized that the Bible says “To die is gain”, a deliverance, new beginning, and entrance into heaven, and glorious welcome home by her loved ones. Thanks to Joan I have wonderful memories . I deeply appreciate her kindness to me and I will look forward to seeing Joan’s smile and hear her say “Welcome Home” when I make my journey. You were a wonderful sister. My love and prayers, Art

Dear Uncle Jim and my dearest cousins, Bettye (Booper), Cecille and Cindy and your families. My heart hurts with the loss of my loved Aunt, your dear wife and mother. Some of my earliest memories are of my Aunt Joan and the Stitt family at the beach in Galveston. Heaven is the promise where we will once again be together. You all are in my daily thoughts and prayers. We love you and miss you.

Cindy,
I’m sorry I never got to meet your Mom in person; I feel like I knew her through all the stories you shared re: her life and illness. As lonely as it will be without her, I know you are happy to know her suffering has ended. What a priviledge for you to have been with her at the end. She was very blessed to have such a wonderful and loving family.
Mike and I will have you in our thoughts and prayers.

Uncle James, Cindy, Cecile and Bettye,
I wish more than ever that we lived closer to each other. Aunt Joan will be forever in my heart! When I lived in Texas again in the 80’s, she was my second Mom again. You should know, she is in heaven right now with my Dad…

Just got the news today.
I have fond memories of visiting the Stitt family as a child and seeing Joan and Jim later in life as they passed our way in their travels.
We routinely support the animal shelter a mile from us, now we have someone to dedicate the support to.
With love and sympathy,
Ray and Mona Lisa Riedel

Dearest Stitt Family,
I’m saddened to hear about the passing of your beautiful Mother. She was always so cheerful and full of life and I see that she continued to wear her pretty dangle earrings and the big smile that I always remembered. Her wonderful personality and great generosity will certainly bring the same joy to The Lord and Heaven as it did here on earth.
