Obituary of Marie Venus Poché

Marie Venus Poché passed away Monday, February 13, 2006 at the age of 71 years. Marie was born April 26, 1934 in New Orleans, Louisiana to William and Hilda Mears Venus. Marie married Leo J. Poché. on June 30, 1956 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a former resident of the Sagemont area and a former parishioner of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church and St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church. She retired from St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church as Youth Ministry Secretary, moved to her home in Country Place and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Manvel. Marie is survived by her loving family; her husband of 49 years, Leo J. Poché, Sr.; three children, Leo J. Poché, Jr. and his wife, Virginia, Kathleen Vingoe and her husband, Douglas, all of Houston and Matthew J. Poché, of The Woodlands; four grandchildren, Kristen, Christian, Zachary and Mitchell; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Thursday, February 16, 2006, at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland, 5530 W. Broadway. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, February 17, 2006, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 6502 County Road 48, in Manvel with Rev. James J. Gaunt, C.S.B. celebrating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, in Webster. For those desiring, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P. O.
