Obituary of Robert D. Ward

Robert D. Ward passed away Monday, May 30, 2005 in Pearland, Texas at the age of 84 years. Bob was born March 6, 1921 in Rockford, Illinois to the late Russell and Virginia Dale Ward. He was a resident of Country Place in Pearland and a former resident of Mount Vernon, Illinois. Bob owned and operated Ward Insurance Agency in Mount Vernon for many years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pearland and a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge BPOE, as well as a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bob served his country in the U. S. Air Force during World War II. Bob is preceded in death by his step son, Thomas Carlton and is survived by a loving family; his beloved wife, Lee; two children, Diane Cox, of Long Beach, California and Pam Wadlin and her husband, Father John, of Ridgecrest, California; his step daughter, Shirley Parker and her husband, Dean, of Pearland, Texas; four grandchildren, Stacey Dailey and her husband, George, of Vancouver, Canada; William Monfort and his wife, Katherine, of Guam; Erin Cox, of Raleigh, North Carolina and Kelley Moore and her husband, Marc, of Long Beach, California; five step grandchildren, Kathy Campbell and her husband, George; Debbie Frees and her husband, Michael and Deana Cady and her husband, Wade, all of Katy, Texas; Brian Carlton and his wife, Karen, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; and Chad Carlton and his wife, Sherilyn, of San Antonio, Texas; four great grandchildren, ten step great grandchildren and three step great-great grandchildren. A reception celebrating Bob’s life was held at 1:00 PM Friday, June 3, 2005, at the Lake View Lodge of Country Place, Country Place Community - 3115 Flower Field Lane, in Pearland.
