Obituary of James Dodd

James Brent Dodd of Pearland died Friday, April 10, 2009 of a heart attack. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Judy Flaherty Dodd; son, Robert Flaherty & his wife Sheila; daughters, Kerrie Walden & her husband Tom, Kathy Grimes & her husband Greg, and Tammy Childers & her husband Steve; sister, Leslye Dodd & her husband Don Anderson, Jr., grandchildren, PFC Randy Hurley, Michaela Flaherty, Lauren Hurley and Jonathan Flaherty; and many other cousins and friends. James was born August 6, 1946 in Tyler, Texas and grew up in Houston. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1964. He was a Master Plumber by profession and enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles. Brent had many nicknames including James and J.B. but Popeye was his riding moniker. He loved motorcycles, being outdoors, and all of his four legged friends. He had a rough exterior but a sharp mind, a quick wit and a big heart. Brent is now with his savior in Heaven along with his parents, James W. and Grace Dodd, who preceded him in 2004. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home.
