Obituary of Lurie M. Getz

Lurie M. Getz passed away Sunday, February 5, 2006 at the age of 85 years. Mrs. Getz was born April 13, 1920 in West Millgrove, Ohio.
She was devout in her Catholic faith. Mrs. Getz was a school teacher for over 22 years, having taught in area parochial schools of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and St. Mary’s. She was a member of the Phoenix Chapter of Delta Chi Sorority. Mrs. Getz was a talented musician and performed with the Hobby Notes Band.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William F. Getz, her son, Stephen C. Getz and her daughter, Vicki L. Chetta, Mrs. Getz is survived by a loving family; her son, Michael F. Getz and his wife, Paula, of Pearland; her seven grandchildren, Renee Stack and her husband, Steve, Stephanie Garcia and her husband, Mark, Natalie Villarreal and her husband, Rudy, John Mills and his wife, Donna, Shannon Roberts and her husband, Tony, Michele Hatz and her husband, Eric and Jennifer Sisk and her husband, Jimmie; 22 great grandchildren; three sisters, Maxine Foxx, Janet Elarton and Nada Ream; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving relatives.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 7, 2006, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Road, Pearland, where a rosary and vigil will be offered at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at St. Helen Catholic Church with Msgr. Reginald R. Nesvadba celebrating.
