Obituary of John Jenkins

John Robert “Roby” Jenkins, age 31 of Pearland, was called to the Lord on April 26, 2009. He is survived by his parents, Bertram & Joyce (Dorsey) Jenkins; grandmother, Daisy Jenkins; step-grandmother, Alma Haywood; brother, Albert Jenkins & his wife Cynthia; sister, Joynita Jenkins; nephew, Jacobi Jenkins; niece, Jordan Jenkins; special friends, Raymond Holmes Jr., Derrick Milburn, & Dionnel Williams; and a host of many other loving family & friends. John was born on August 5, 1977 in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Growing up his family affectionately called him “Roby”. He was a barber by trade and enjoyed this profession for many years. John was a people person and made friends with anyone he met. He was a fan of all sports and especially the Houston Astros and Pittsburgh Steelers. In his spare time, he would listen to hip hop or gospel music or wrote poetry, even once having a poem published. John was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Visitation for John will be on Friday, May 1, 2009, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home.
