Obituary of Jerri Bailey

Jerri Rae Largent Bailey, age 61 of La Porte, Texas, passed away after battling a long illness on April 28, 2009. She is preceded in death by her parents, Forrest & Mertle (Elder) Largent. She is survived by her husband, Larry Bailey; sons, Jon Pfeiffer and Daniel Pfeiffer & his wife Michelle; grandchildren, Maci Pfeiffer, Lane Pfeiffer, Felecia Pfeiffer, John Michael Pfeiffer, and Cody McElyea. Jerri was born on February 5, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was married to Larry for thirty years. Jerri was an accomplished publisher and editor and was the National Chairman of the Bowling Writer’s Association. One of her long running statewide publications was The Gulfcoast Bowling News. She owned and managed many other businesses over the years, including the Tournament Bowlers of America. Jerri’s most fulfilling role after retirement was that of a grandmother. She loved her grandchildren dearly, and did everything she could to delight them. They affectionately referred to her as “Tadi” as well as many other children that visited her home. Jerri will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends. A Memorial Service for Jerri will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 3:00 pm in the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel. Jerry Thomas will be officiating.
