We have been fondly remembering our first visit to the YMCA of the Rockies years ago. You and Virgil guided us through our first hike with plenty of rest stops, water breaks and great company. My sincerest sympathies to all the family of Virgil. I did not have an opportunity to meet Mt Gant. I knew about him through my daughter, Dena Isenberg Hanks. She has served on the Pearland ISD Foundation board alongside him. She looked at him as a mentor and the joyous man who made all their meetings enjoyable. She spoke highly of his ability to bring smiles and giggles as they listened to situations that arose. She told us of his passing and shared a few stories. Thank you for sharing him with others as his wisdom was still being admired. My condolences to your family as you move through the maze of grief. How very sorry we are for the loss of Virgil. He was a pleasure to serve with on the board. His commitment to the students and employees of the district as well as his fellow board members was unfailing. We are shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Mr Gant's passing and send our deepest sympathies and regards to the Gant family. Mrs (Dr) Gant has been our pediatrician for the last 7 years for our 4 children, since the first was born. We were just there last Thursday, and she was kind and caring as always. We were so shock and sad when we heard of the tragic accident that happened to Mr Gant, Dr Gant, and their grandson. Mr Gant passing is a huge loss to our community. We will forever remember Mr Gant's great sense of humor and generous heart. We will continue to pray for Dr Gant and the grandson for a speedy recovery.

I am so very sorry to hear about Virgil's passing. I was in the 1966 graduating class in Lancaster, Texas with Virgil. All the classmates knew him as "Dudgie" and have fond memories of him.
