Obituary of Helen Guel

Helen Martinez Guel passed away Sunday, April 10, 2005 at the age of 85 years. Mrs. Guel was born August 20, 1919 in Gregory, Texas to Isidro and Guadalupe Alvarado Martinez. She was a devout parishioner of St. Helen’s Catholic Church and a member of The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, St. Helen Court # 2330. Mrs. Guel is survived by a loving family; her dear friend and sister-in-law, Kathleen Bogar and her husband, Frank H.; nieces, Gloria Martinez Rendon, Elizabeth Martinez, Barbara Martinez Piersol, and Kimberly Bogar Metcalf; her daughter, Gloriana Guel Gonzalez and her husband, Osvaldo; four grandchildren, Jennifer Salazar Rivera, Joe A. Salazar, Pamela Gonzalez and Rebecca Gonzalez; several great-grandchildren, numerous Guel family, and a host of friends. Visitation was held Tuesday, April 12, 2005, from 5 – 9 PM, at the Chapel of Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland, where a vigil service was offered at 7:30 PM, followed by a rosary led by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, St. Helen Court #2330. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Road, Pearland. Interment followed at Resurrection Cemetery, in Pearland. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to be made to St. Helen’s Catholic Church Building Fund, 2209 Old Alvin Road, Pearland, TX 77581
