Obituary of Julia Ann Winkelman

Julia "Judy" Ann Winkelman, 89, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. She is preceded in death by the parents, Arvle and Elva Cowan; her loving husband of 57 years, Charles F. Winkelman; and youngest sister, Pauline Crismon. Judy is survived by son, Melvin Winkelman and wife, Beverly; daughters, Sandra Batschelett and husband, Charles; Lois Barrow and husband, Robert; sister, Leona Sissel, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and another on the way; and a host of other family and friends. Judy was a "giver" most all her life. As a young wife and mother, she sewed for the public as well as for her family. She loved to crochet and do crafts of all kinds, giving to others much of what she made. For several years, Judy was a news reporter for the Grants Daily Beacon Newpaper while living in Grants, NM. She was affectionately known as "Grandma Judy" to her great-grandchildren whom she cherished. She truly loved her "grands" and her "greats". In her latter years she was extremely blessed with love, family and friends. We, her family, chose to celebrate her Graduation...her journey is over and she is finally Home. We will truly miss her until we see her again.
