Nancy Dee Mize, 75, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Janie Rikard; her loving husband of 48 years, James Henry Mize, Jr., and sister, Mary Ann Humble. Nancy is survived by her sons, Anthony Milam and wife, Stephanie, Jeffrey N. Mize and wife, Lisa; daughters, Rebecca Cowart and husband, Gary, Ramona Grissom and husband, David; brothers, Billy Walthall, William Rikard; sister, Jackie Boyd and husband, Bob; grandchildren, Ashley Remedios and husband, Barrett, Megan and Hunter Milam, Mackenzie and Madison Mize, Jordan Cowart, Dane, Brooke and Nathan Grissom; and great-grandchild, Brooks Remedios on the way; and a host of other family and friends. Nancy loved her family dearly and truly adored her grandchildren. She was affectionately known as “Granny” to all of them and she cherished spending time with them. Nancy enjoyed video poker and going with her husband, James and their friends from Pasadena on many trips to Laughlin, Nevada. She enjoyed going for walks for its calming and therapeutic effects. Nancy missed James very much and had difficult times after his passing. She will forever be remembered for her love of card games and especially Texas Hold’Em that she learned from her family at a very young age. Nancy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service for Nancy will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 at 11:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating.
