Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edward Frank Weiman, 87, passed away peaceful with his family by his side on Monday, August 15, 2016. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 8, 1928. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Weiman; brothers, Roman, Raymond and Daniel Weiman; and sister, Evelyn Balis. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jane Weiman; sons, Jim Cummings and wife, Janet, Pat Cummings, David Weiman and wife, Sarah; daughters, Kathy Shatto and husband, Alf, Mary Bourgeois and husband, Gary, Yvonne Kelley and husband, Greg; sister-in-law, Lucille Weiman; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Ed accomplished many things throughout his life but he was most proud of his family. He was a successful resort owner, restaurant manager, farmer, concrete pump operator and even once a security guard. Also Ed served as a cook in the army during the Korean War and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Throughout it all, Ed was a great entertainer known for his amazing stories and hilarious jokes. He enjoyed music, singing and dancing. Ed loved fishing for the solitude and peacefulness and often times considered actually catching a fish the bonus. He was affectionately known to all of his friends and family as “Uncle Ed”. Ed will forever be remembered for his favorite farewell phrase he said to everyone, “Peace be with you.” He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Windsong Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pearland and to Heart to Heart Hospice for their loving care and support.
