Margie Luccille McCain, a long time resident of Pasadena and more recently of Deer Park, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2005 in Pasadena at the age of 75 years due to congestive heart failure . Mrs. McCain was born September 1, 1929 in Gary, Texas to Anis Albert and Mattie Ola (Carico) Terry. She was a member of Clearpoint Church, was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert F. McCain, and is survived by a loving family; her daughter, Terry Brashier, of Deer Park; her son, Leslie Miles Taylor, Jr., of San Antonio; two step sons, Rob McCain, of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Talbot McCain, of Greenwood, Mississippi; seven granddaughters, one step grandson and one great great granddaughter. Margie grew up in Lufkin Texas as the youngest of 6 children. She was cheerleader for the Lufkin Panthers and maintained her friendships there until the end of her life. She always said she was so lucky to have grown up in the 40’s in a small town in Texas. We each had our own pet name for her. The granddaughters called her Marge or Little Marge. Dozens of their friends called her Mamaw. Her daughter loving referred to her as Lucy or “the old woman” and her son had recently started calling her Boney because of all the weight she had lost due to her illness. She was proud of all of them and knew that by them she was special to each of us. Marge was a pillar of strength and wisdom to everyone but most especially when her beloved Bob suffered his stroke in 1979. She never stopped believing in him or in his ability to get better. She was so devoted to him that she didn’t know she was sick until after he passed away. It was at that time that she came to live in Deer Park with her daughter and son in law and three of the granddaughters. From her crossword puzzle in the paper every morning, to her high heeled shoes and crazy pin curls, she was a part of our every day lives and we will never stop missing her. Graveside services and interment were held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Grand View Memorial Park, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, with Rev. Jerry Holloman officiating. In lieu of usual remembrances memorials are requested to be made to Clearpoint Church, 5151 E. Sam Houston Parkway South, Pasadena, Texas 77505 (281) 991-9700.
