Obituary of Phyllis Ann Reed

Phyllis Ann Reed, 60, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016. She is preceded in death by her father, Henry E. Sellman; husband, Joseph Reed; and sister, Lois Turner. Phyllis is survived by her mother, Jimmie Sellman; sons, James “J.R.” Beaver and girlfriend, Allison Haas, Neil Beaver and wife, Sarah Smith; daughter, Sarah Beaver; brothers, Ennis Sellman and wife, Debbie, Bill Sellman and wife, Kim; sisters, Sharon Johnson and husband, Gil McCoy, Betty Barnes and husband, Tiny, Patti Campise and husband, James, Dottie Rhoads and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Grant, Jake, and Josh Beaver, Christopher Rodgers; and a host of other family and friends. Phyllis loved being a mother and grandmother and was affectionately known as “Grannie” to all of her grandchildren and "Phe Phe" to nieces and nephews. She always worked hard doing whatever it took to provide for all her family and always put others first. She was a wonderful cook following in her mother’s footsteps. Phyllis was always determined in everything she tried and never backed down from a challenge. She was an inspiration to everyone around her as she courageously battled against cancer. She enjoyed going to the casinos to play the slots and playing bingo. Phyllis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her! I made it home "I just wanted to let you all know that I made it home. The journey wasn't an easy one, but it didn't take too long. Everything is so pretty here, so white, so fresh and new. I wish that you all could close your eyes and that you could see it too. Please try not to be sad for me. Try to understand God is taking care of me... I'm in the shelter of His hands. Here there is no sadness, no sorrow, and no pain. Here there is no crying and I'll never hurt again. Here it is so peaceful when all the angels sing. I really have to go for now... I've just got to try my wings." A Memorial service for Phyllis will be held Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 pm and the service will follow starting at 6:00 pm.
