Obituary of William James Aubertin

William Dub Aubertin, 90, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016. He was a fourth generation Houstonian. After graduating from Lamar High School, he joined the US Navy and served for two and a half years as a radioman on an LST in the Pacific. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1950 and formed the Aubertin Company manufacturing hollow metal frames and doors. In 1975, Dub sold the company and returned to his art, where he became well known for his watercolors of the gulf coast and western scenes. His favorite pastime was golf and he was a member of the “Country Men” at Country Place Golf Club in Pearland, Texas.
Dub is preceded in death by two wives, Helen Aubertin who passed away in 1982 and Anne Aubertin who died in 1998. He is survived by his dear friend and companion of 17 wonderful years, Georgia Nagel and one sister, Marion Rylander. A Memorial Service for Dub will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church,2314 N. Grand Blvd., Pearland, Texas 77581 with Rev. Dr. Keith Whitaker officiating.
