Obituary of Hilton Joseph Prejean

Hilton Joseph Prejean, 54, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dalton and Rose Prejean; and sister, Dagmar Duhon. Hilton is survived by his lady Diane Jenkins of 15 years. His son, Aaron Prejean; daughter, Amanda Girardi and husband, Michael; step-son, Michael Jenkins and Jennifer; step-daughters, Tambrey Webb and husband, Jeffrey, Katie Gonzalez and husband, Jonathan, Leslie Montemayor and husband, Dennis; brother, Charles R. Prejean and Lois; sister, Olite Melanson and husband, Douglas Jr.; step grandchildren, Zoe and Ashtyn; godchildren Shay and Rebecca; and a host of other family and friends. Hilton was the perfect model of a companion, father and friend. He was an excellent provider for his family and a hard worker that spent 37 years with NOV Tuboscope, which allowed him the opportunity to travel and see the world. Hilton enjoyed fishing from his boat Lou Lou and shucking oysters. In typical Louisiana fashion, Hilton loved to throw large parties and have huge crawfish boils. He was known to relax on the swing at the beach house and would enjoy him some Coke and Gentleman Jack. Hilton loved all kinds of music and riding around on his “Cadillac,” a lawnmower. He was always available to help others in need and made it a point to teach anyone who wanted to learn. Hilton loved bragging about his children and all their accomplishments. His favorite time of the year was Christmas as it gave everyone in the family an opportunity to spend time together. Hilton will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him around the world. A visitation for Hilton will be held Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. A visitation and Funeral Mass will take place in Louisiana under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home. The visitation will take place Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm with the mass following at 12:00 pm at Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Avenue, Carencro, Louisiana 70520. Interment will follow at Evangeline Memorial Gardens.
