My deepest condolences to Donna and family. I worked at Mitchell Elementary with Mr. Baumann. He always walked into the office with that million dollar smile. He loved teaching and loved his students. God always takes the best. I will keep you in my prayers.
Love,

It's funny how time goes by and as you get older you sometimes think of the people that had a true impact on your life. Mr.Baumann was one of those people for me. I had him in the 4th grade at Trinity in Alma. I had a speech impediment in which I could not say the letter R. One day he took me and another student who also had that same problem aside and he asked me just to recite the old testament books. I didn't know what he was getting at, but I did what he asked and after I said the book Ezra he stopped me and asked me to say it again. And lo and behold I pronounced it correctly and didn't realize it. But he did. He had noticed it whenever we had to recite those books in religion class. From there on he worked with me to get that letter right in my speech and I did. He didn't have to do all that. He wasn't a speech teacher. But he was someone who cared and I will always be grateful to him for helping me. I've wondered through the years what had ever happened to my "speech" teacher Mr.Baumann. Now I know. He's in heaven. And I was blessed to have known him. May God be with the family in giving you much peace and love.

I was in Mr. Baumann's class at Trinity, Alma when Miss Tonn was our student teacher. I'll never forget the two of you. I'm sure when he arrived at the pearly gates God said "Well done thou good and faithful servant."

Lowell, or Mr. Baumann as I always addressed him, was my teacher for my first four grades @ Zion, Blackburn & Trinity, Alma, MO. He taught all 8 grades for 2 years @ our "one room" school in Blackburn. He was a tremendous role model & man of God who made learning fun. He influenced me & many others to become Lutheran pastors & teachers. Even more boys & girls learned how to live out their Christian vocation through his example & teaching. I have great memories of those early formative years that helped mold my character & values, & I thank God for placing Lowell Baumann in my life! "Well done, thou good & faithful servant"! (Matt. 25:22)

To Donna and family:
I am saddened to hear of Mr. Baumann's passing. Having such a teacher in the tender, formative years of 3rd and 4th grades was challenging at the time, but forever a grateful blessing thereafter. He instilled my passion for understanding the meaning of words and being able to use them correctly and was instrumental in creating my love for reading. He will forever have a special place in my heart as one of the best teachers ever. Please accept my sincere sympathy and know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Baumann Family,
Lowell was beyond kind and loving. I really admired how much he loved and supported his family in all matters. He and Donna were always so gracious to me and always treated me and everyone like one of the family. He was a child at heart and had sense of humor that I'm sure made him a stellar educator. He is irreplaceable and will be remembered fondly by all.
Much love to the entire Baumann Family.

A strong christian man I had the pleasure of working with at Mitchell Elementary for many years. Mr. Baumann loved teaching and working with children. More than that he was a man of dignity and loved his wife and children. With God leading his life it was always a pleasure to talk to him and share the word. To Donna I want you to know as hard as it will be to go on without Lowell he will forever be in your heart and waiting for you to join him one day. But for now stay strong and enjoy those grandchildren. I know Lowell would want you to. May God bless you and your children and surround you with the angels to protect you all. Love you, Debbie
