Robert Andrew Oravetz, 58, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Oravetz; and brother, Richard Oravetz. Robert is survived by mother, Mildred Oravetz; loving wife of 17 years, Beth Oravetz; brother, Allen Oravetz and wife, Cheryl; mother-in-law, Barbara Frankovsky; brothers-in-law, Peter Frankovsky and wife, Suzanne, John Frankovsky and wife, Donna; sister-in-law, Martha Sherman and husband, Duane; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Robert was the love of Beth’s life and her true soulmate. He loved the outdoors and could be found most days either riding his Harley, fishing, rescuing animals or building something. Robert was great with his hand and had a strong mechanical mind that could fix just about anything. He built their home and shop in Pearland. Robert had a love and passion for the people and all aspects on the pipeline. Robert was a dual transplant recipient and because of this his wife Beth was a huge advocate for encouraging people to register to be a donor. He was courageous in everything he did including battling his genetic blood disease and then cancer. Robert’s battle was a testament to his determination and was an inspiration to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Robert to Gift of Life at www.giftoflife.org. or donating blood or blood platelets in his honor at St Luke’s or any blood center.
