Dear the Hocking Family:
I want to say that Ken was a dear friend and mentor to me. He was a good man with a big heart and love for others. My good friend, ‘Shrek’, the big guy will be missed. I can’t believe that we just did our first real estate transaction together, and was discussing the bright future that we had for 2010. Unfortunately we will meet again in Heaven my good friend. My prayers and condolences goes out from my family to yours.

I am a long distance co-worker of Brandy’s.
I only met Kenneth once during a visit to the Hocking home where gracious hospitality was extended to me. I was able to see this kind, Southern Gentleman in action. He was loving and dedicated to his wife and friendly and gracious to all he met. He will be missed, and the world is diminished by his loss.
Love to you, Brandy Dana

Dear Hocking Family – Words can’t express the sadness I’ve felt for you all since the 21st. I grew up with Kenneth and in such a small community you really get to know someone. . and the description of him having a “poet’s heart” is spot on. He always had a smile and a hearty laugh and I can’t say I ever saw him gloomy or in a bad mood. I know you feel a light has gone out, but that light will shine on forever in the memories of friends and family, and most of all in his children. Take heart that we will all see him again some day and please know that countless prayers and best wishes are being sent your way.
Sincerely, Brandi Collins Wright (BHS ’90)

Kenneth was one of the very few people that I knew that would call a couple of times a year just to say HI and see what I was up to for no reason at all. Just to say HI. I’ll always remember that about him. He was a really friendly guy that cared about people and doing the right thing. If you knew Kenneth you knew he loved his kids. He always talked about them.
